Denver, CO Conergy US Director of Operations, Donald Chung, announced today that the sale of the company’s solar water pump division has been finalized. Effective January 21, 2010, Charlotte, NC-based Innovative Solar Solutions acquired Conergy’s solar water pump operations in their entirety. Managers at Conergy expressed confidence that given Innovative Solar Solutions solar industry experience and success to date, they are poised to provide continuity of service, support and high quality products for our customers’ solar water pumping applications.
Innovative Solar Solutions has assembled a team of operational and advisory personnel having a long association with Conergy solar water pumps, which will assist with the smooth transition of operations and ensure continuity of expertise and service. Matt Leimbach, former production manager of Conergy pump division, will continue in that role under Innovative Solar Solutions' ownership. The production facility will remain at the Santa Fe location, allowing minimal interruption to production and delivery.
The sale of the solar pump division concludes Conergy US re-alignment to make PV the company’s core business focus globally. According to Chung, “The management team in the US believes that shifting our resources to focus on core residential and commercial PV markets better serves our extensive dealer network by helping them grow their businesses in the most profitable market segments of renewable energy.”
“The solar pump business, along with solar thermal and small wind product categories we exited in late-2009, require specialized technical knowledge and an abundance of human and financial resources to support,” said Chung. “By reallocating these resources to grid-tie and battery-based residential and small commercial products and services, we can better serve the majority of our customers.”
