Conergy and MEMC have come to an agreement |
Hamburg, January 24th 2010 – The Hamburg-based Conergy AG and MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc. have reached an out-of-court settlement of the lawsuit pending and have agreed on a further adjustment of the wafer supply contract, which originally amounted to $8 billion. Going forward, the volumes supplied by MEMC will be based on the requirements of Conergy’s solar plant in Frankfurt (Oder). The prices paid for wafers will be based on market prices. Conergy’s CEO Dieter Ammer says: “This is a very positive development for Conergy."

Photovoltaics Conquer the North: Conergy sells the largest solar park in Northern Germany to an investor group |
Conergy Deutschland GmbH has successfully sold the “Hörup“ solar park with peak power output of 4.2 MW to a group of investors. This means that the park in Hörup by Flensburg is currently the largest connected photovoltaic park in Northern Germany. A total of three investors, as well as a Citizens’ Solar Park (Bürgersolarpark) have invested in financing the project, which has an investment volume in the double-digit million range. Conergy is responsible for the development and construction of the megawatt park.

The Conergy solar equipment manufacturing plant in Frankfurt (Oder) is further increasing production by starting up additional cell and module lines; two more of each. On August 19, Brandenburg’s Secretary of Commerce will attend the dedication ceremony for the new lines. Upon startup, output at the location will double at the very least. Conergy sales in Q2 almost tripled compared to previous quarter |
Thanks to the upturn in the global solar market, the Hamburg-based photovoltaic specialist Conergy has almost tripled its sales to € 163.4m in the second quarter, compared to the previous quarter. Furthermore, Conergy has increased its gross profit margin by 4.3 percentage points to 18.5 percent in the first half of the year, compared to the same period last year. A positive net cash flow of € 17.3m from the operating business reflects, above all, more efficient relations with stock and much lower receivables from deliveries and services.

Conergy Deutschland GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of products and solutions in the field of solar electricity generation, has successfully concluded the sale of three photovoltaic plants in Bavaria. This subsidiary of the publicly owned Conergy AG sold its solar park in Baar with a nominal capacity of 4.8 MWp, its photovoltaic plant in Gebersdorf with a nominal capacity of 2.3 MWp and its solar plant in Münster (Bavaria) with a nominal capacity of 3.6 MWp. The Luxembourg-based investor completed the acquisition with the support of Pulse-Asset Management GmbH (PAM) from Hamburg. The PAM team has many years of experience in the solar industry and this acquisition represents their first joint project. The parties have kept quiet about the purchase price.

Hamburg / Trier – Conergy Deutschland GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of products and solutions in the field of solar electricity generation, completed work in Trier (Rhineland-Palatinate) on what is currently the third largest thin-film solar park in the world. On behalf of Stadtwerke Trier (SWT), the solar concern built the fully equipped photovoltaic park, with a total peak output of 8.4 MW, after only six months of construction. Upon completion of the last segment, the solar power plant was able to be completely installed into the electrical grid. Capital expenditure for the megawatt project amounts to around 30M euros.
